Terms and Conditions
Young Estimator Challenge 2022 is organised by BCISM SDN BHD. The Contest will be held in December 2022 for University Category. By participating in the Contest, each team making an application to participate in the Contest and each Team Member unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of the Organiser, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
Objective
To promote the practical usages of digital cost data through collaborative and competitive learning approach in academia.
Categories
Each institution can have more than 1 team.
Timeline
Registration: 2nd December – 8th December 2022
Last Submission: 30th December 2022
Announcement of Result: 9th January 2023
Temporary License
Each participating team will be provided Temporary License for N3C portal.
General Consent
- Members of all Teams must comply strictly with all Terms and Conditions of the Contest. The Judges and Organiser reserve the rights to disqualify any Team if he/she has reasonable grounds to believe any member of that respective Team has breached any Terms and Conditions that has been set forth.
- All entries and deliverable must be submitted electronically, within the time frame given.
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel and/or modify the Terms and Conditions, at any time in the Contest without prior notice.
- The Organiser reserves the final decision on the Contest and has the right to cancel or change the awards and other arrangement for the Contest without prior notice.
Registration
- All Participating Teams shall register their participation before 8th December 2022. Confirmation of registration will be notified through email together with the instruction and materials.
- Only the registered Team Members who completed the full submissions to the Contest are qualified to receive the certificates of participation.
- Each university can have more than ONE (1) team, which consists of up to FIVE (5) students accompanied by ONE (1) supervising lecturer, and each team must have ONE (1) team leader.
- ONE (1) supervising lecturer can supervise more than ONE (1) team.
Contest Period
- After registration, Teams will be given a trial project (Drawings & Bills of Quantities) through Team leaders’ email.
- Teams will be required to take off quantities and build up the rates for some elements of the given project, including inserting the quantities and rates into the provided Excel. Teams must build up the rates using the cost data from the N3C portal.
- After acquiring the final cost of the project, Teams are required to forecast the project cost by using the index from the N3C portal for the following conditions:
- From the year 2021 to the year 2023 (Tender Price Index)
- From location Selangor to Terengganu, Perak, and Johor (Location Index – attached in email)
- Based on the forecast, Teams need to present the forecast results visually such as using a graph, table, or others, depending on the Teams’ creativity.
- Teams will be required to submit the Excel provided and the forecast result to the Judging Committee through BCISM website [Link] before 11.45pm, 30th December 2022. Any late submission will not be entertained.
- Any submission that is not accessible to the Judging Committee will not be entertained. Teams are expected to ensure that their submission is successful before the submission dateline.
- Judging will be based on a baseline result done by the Judging Committee.
- Confirmation of submission will take up to 3-working days.
- Results for the evaluation will be announced on 9th January 2023 with various online platforms operated by BCISM Sdn Bhd.
- The award winners would be informed through email for the rewards on 10th January 2022.
- NO appeals are allowed for the results of the evaluation. All decisions of the judges are final and conclusive.
Contest Prizes
- Prizes for the contest are as follows:
Top 3 (THREE) Group Winner, 5 pax of:
- Glodon Software Training worth RM 22,500 &
- 6 (SIX) months of N3C Premium License worth RM 11,250 &
- E-Certificate
Fourth – Tenth Prize, 5 pax of:
- 6 (SIX) months of N3C Basic License worth RM 12,250 &
- E-Certificate
- If any of the stated prizes are not available, one or more items may be substituted with items of equal value at the Organiser’s sole and absolute discretion. No prize is otherwise exchangeable, transferable, or redeemable for cash.
Post-Contest
- All documents submitted for the Young Estimator Challenge 2022 shall not be returned.
- The Organiser shall retain and hold exclusive rights of any documents submitted for the purpose of Young Estimator Challenge 2022.
- All decisions made by the Organiser and Judges are final. No correspondence shall be entertained.
